Faith For Today

Hey CGC family! I love Moffats’s translation of Hebrews 11:1, which reads: “Now faith means we are confident of what we hope for, convinced of what we do not see.” Another translation states, “Faith is the warranty deed, the thing for which you have fondly hoped for is at last yours.” We have to believe we have our petitions and then we get them. Faith is proving God’s Word by acting on it. Romans 10:10 says, “For with the heart man believeth…” We have to get beyond mental assent in believing that what we ask according to God’s Word will come to pass. Mark 11:24 tells us that “..Whatsoever we desire, when we pray, believe taht we receive them and we shall have them. When do we receive them? Not when we see them but rather when we believe. It does not take faith to believe for something we can see. Romans 4:17 tells us to call those things that be not as though they were. Bible faith is believing what God says over our circumstances. In summary, we need to have God’s Word for what we desire to receive from Him; believe God’s Word; consider not the circumstances; praise God for the answer before we see the manifestation. I know many of have been believing for significant things since the fast in January. The question is when did we receive the answer for those petitions? According to the Word, it is when we believe and not when we see. So let us stand strong together as a church family giving consistent praise to God for the manifestation of requests that we have already believed for and we’ll begin to see those ships parked in our front yards! Remember that without faith it is impossible to please Him. We’re a God pleasing congregation at CGC that continues to exercise our faith to make an impact on others to receive salvation and all of God’s best. Be encouraged, God always causes us to triumph through Christ! Truth always overrides facts.

You are a blessed, highly favored, and the apple of His eye. Dedicated to His service; Pastor Rick

His Will

Hey guys!

I want to share a quick word with you all. The word of God says in 1 John 5:14, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he hears us.” If you all would notice Pastor Rick mentions all the time that the word “will” means testament, so, in essence, it says according to His testament. haha I put it like it this according to His WORD simple enough. Now that we have established that point. Ask yourself, “Are my prayers lining up with the Word?” Remember in James 4:3 the Word of God tells us, “When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” I’m saying if there is no foundation of the Word that lines up with your needs then most likely you will be moved by your emotions like shifting sand. I challenge you all to write down scriptures on index cards, if you have to, that pertains to your situation (i kno i will) and use those as your sword when the enemy comes knockin. When that time comes what are you going to stand on? shifting sand or The Solid Rock?!

Here’s the promise in His Word that stands strong in my heart: Isaiah 30:23, “He will also SEND YOU RAIN for the SEED YOU SOW IN THE GROUND, and the FOOD that comes from the LAND WILL BE RICH AND PLENTIFUL.” HALLELUJAH!!!!

:) Thanx for hearing my heart, Pastor Isaac

What is it going to take?

I am currently packing and getting ready and prepared to go halfway across the world to India and stay there for about a month. The purpose in going is two-sided, to see family but more importantly and most excitingly, I will have the opportunity to minister at several places there. Knowing that I will be ministering there at several places, I have been found a new hunger and passion. I mean, I will be ministering to a whole different type of audience that I am not used to. An audience, that unlike here in America, has the threat of persecution constantly because they do not believe in the false idols and pagan gods as the predominately hindu extremists do. We in America, has never had to face such persecution of death threats and beatings, instead we claim we are facing “persecution” whenever a co-worker or a someone we know gives us a hard time about what we believe. I have been on several missions trips and to see the difference in passion and hunger for God between the people of other countries compared to people here in America blows me away. In the mist of all the persecution and beatings, churches are exploding in growth all around the world and the spirit of God is moving so strongly with miracles, signs, and wonders, that we pray and hope for is only a common there aboard.

Why is that?

What is about the other countries, where God can move so mightily and strongly that no one there is afraid to literally lay down their life for the savior who laid his life first for them. But here, we get so comfortable and we decide and whether to go to church or prayer based on OUR convenience. Whether its a great day to golfing, go out shopping, or to the races, etc. we find every excuse NOT to go.

Why is that?

We pray for revival and ask God for miracles, signs, and wonders, but why is it so common elsewhere? I believe that the reason is that their hunger is very genuine and real, they have nothing else to live for except for God. To go to church or read the Word is a luxury for them! They long for God to move in a radical way. In order to get to that place where our hunger and desire for God’s touch, what is it going to take?

I just wanted to leave you with some thoughts and challenge your thinking. In reading this, I hope that someway you where stirred up and was challenged to seek God more than ever before and to move in your life like nothing ever done before!

I believe God is about to release something so powerful, so big, something that we have never seen before but in order to receive that we need to be willing to do things that we have never been done before and go so deep in him.

God Bless!

-Pastor Steve

Where do you stand?

Nehemiah 4:6 says, “So we built the wall, and all [of it] was joined together to half its height, for the people had a heart and mind to work. This is a great example of what can happen when people work in unity with all their heart. This applies to all areas of our lives, in our families, in our jobs, and within the body of Christ. If you and your wife are not unified, there is no peace in the family. If you don’t agree with the direction your job is going, you won’t be satisfied. If everyone in the church doesn’t get behind the pastor and the vision of the house, souls won’t be saved and some of our families and friends will spend eternity in hell. Just like the Jews in Nehemiah built the wall when they all put their heart and mind into the work, we can reach souls and make disciples of all nations when we put all our heart and mind to the task at hand. So, now I challenge you to pray and see where you stand with the vision of the church. Is all your heart and mind in doing whatever it takes to reach the souls of our families, community, nation, and world?

Special prayer request…

I would like everyone to pray for Pastor Garrett… As you know in April Pastor Richie will start a series of messages called UFC!  At the end of the series, to end with a bang, Pastor Garrett and myself will go head to head in a real live 3 round bout, UFC style!  So if you will pray for him… I think he is really scared… he’s been trying to talk big to me and smack talking… I just think someone who talks the hardest… hits the softest!!!  :-)     Ok for real… seriously being praying for this series and the event!  I am asking the Lord to really draw the lost to the event and for many to not only hear the gospel, but be changed by it and become believers themselves!!   Much Love Pastor Garrett!  -Aaron

Seriously Pumped!

Wuz up everyone…  This is Pastor Aaron I am totally pumped up!  I met with another youth pastor in the area today and it was incredible!  It was like the Lord had been showing him the exact same things He has been showing us about reaching our city. We talked about youth ministries in the area and reaching out to the youth. He has been trying to connect with other youth ministries in the area and it just hasn’t ever really worked out.  Can you say God moment! As we talked I was getting more and more pumped because he wants and welcomes the partnership.  It’s about reaching the lost!  Taking what the Lord is doing in us and taking it to the high schools and jr highs, to the neighborhoods and ultimately to the city of Forney and beyond!  He had been doing this back when he was a youth pastor in Carrollton and his youth hooked up with The North Church once a month and Covenant Church quarterly to do huge out reaches to the area.  HE said he came to Forney with the same vision and it just hasn’t taken off like he wants it to…. We both agreed the Lord is about to do something mind blowing in Forney and we get to be a part of it!  LAUNCH time!!!  I can’t wait!  Pastor Stan… if you read this… buckle up bro!!!
